COMPANY FOUNDATION

John Brian Young, known to many as Bill, left a very good job for a wotton based company to start up on his own. With a loan from his Gran, he bought a van, and gradually built the business up over the following years. Bill, a carpenter and joiner by trade, slowly took on staff to help him as the business grew, usually having between 3 and 8 employees, this gradual growth, ensured that the business was built on solid footings.

MOTTO

“Large enough to cope, Small enough to care”, being the company motto, is still relevant to day, as with many companies that have got larger and expanded, J.B. Young and sons, are still very much your local general builder, still with a small dedicated workforce, usually between 4 and 6 employees, only using our trusted subcontractors, for ground works, electrics, plumbing and scaffolding. Our present workforce, can boast over 120 years experience in the building industry.

Our main work over the years have been extensions, alterations, renovations, including, many of the local churches, almshouses, Prinknash Abbey, and Woodchester priory church to name but a few, and of course our many domestic clients.
